Last year, we reported that the pianist Jonathan Biss would be presenting a free online course dedicated to Beethoven's piano sonatas for the Curtis Institute via Coursera. The course proved extremely popular, attracting more than 35,000 students, so Coursera will be running the course again in March.
You don't need to be an experienced pianist or have knowledge of music theory to take part, and if you complete the course you will receive a Statement of Accomplishment, which will look nice on the wall.
Jonathan Biss is currently recording the complete Beethoven piano sonatas for Onyx. To find out more information about the course and to register, visit Coursera.
